Twinkies

Okay, so Khloe does NOT need new clothes. None whatsoever. It would be obsurd of me to even spend money on a new anything for her. I'm very fortunate to have so many wonderful hand-me-downs from Kayla and Cassidy. Sometimes I wonder if she'll even be able to wear everything in her drawers and closets at least once before I have to put this size away. I feel blessed to not need anything for Khloe, other than sometimes I do want to buy something new for her (if it's on super sale I can't resist!). Switching out an entire wardrobe of things I haven't seen since I put away four years ago or cute things that I remember Cassidy wore is like having a brand new wardrobe for Khloe every three months.

But, there are a few exceptions. Things that Khloe absolutely needs, and those are matching clothes with her sister. Kayla is totally on board, loves to wear anything matching with her sister. I don't know how Khloe will feel about it once she is able to voice her opinion so I'm taking advantage of it while I can. It's not easy to find coordinating outfits in size 6-12 months and 5T, but I have found a few cute pieces that I can't wait to try on them.

One thing Kayla loves to wear just like her sister is footed pajamas. All of Khloe's pj's have feet and Kayla has a few pair.... from last year.... that are fleece..... and a size too small. Regardless of the hot temperatures outside and the fact that she can't hardly walk downstairs ("bees they are too small!") Kayla will still wear them because Khloe is.

Problem solved. Two matching-happy-footed-pajama-wearing sisters. So cute!
Why stop at one pair? I think they need more.

Leisurely stroll

Kayla started off in the stroller, but then wanted to walk, so I have someone to do all the work for me...
And this is the end result.

Two's company

Today was the first day both girls rode in our double stroller together! What fun! We purchased this stroller, which is identical to Kurt and Sarah's, after seeing how easily and convienantly theirs worked. We're so happy to have it! The cool thing about it, it also doubles as a bike trailer which Aaron and Kayla have gotten great use out of it since we purchased it almost two months ago. We've just been waiting on little Khloe to be able to sit upright well on her own before we put her in it. Since Kayla is such a great sister, always looking out for Khloe and taking care of her, I knew that it would be helpful to have Kayla in the stroller with Khloe for her first ride. Today was a beautiful sunny day and since I know these moments are fleeting, we took it for a spin!
I'm not sure the stroller can handle all this cuteness! I don't know who loved it more, Kayla or Khloe!

Kaaah-loeeeee!

That is exactly how Kayla calls to you all day long. Kaaah-loeeee Jean! You are going to be five months old tomorrow! Goodness! What can I say? You are just so so so so so so sweet sweet sweet and cuddly and so much fun to kiss. Your cheeks are just so kissable!

As a soon-to-be five month old you are eating a bowl of rice cereal (well, 1T equals a bowl) and the same amount of food with it too every evening for dinner. So far your cuisine has consisted of pears and carrots. Ymmmmm! You started getting disgruntled this past week when I was feeding you and I thought you weren't into the food anymore and then I realized that I just wasn't feeding you fast enough. So, I shoveled food in more quickly and you seem to appreciate that. I think I may add another feeding to your day since you are gulping down your food so quickly. Well, for that reason and, hoping that more food equals longer, better sleep. We're still trying to unravel the mysteries of your sleep habits. You just are not a creature of routine. There is no rhyme or reason to your sleep, eat and wake schedules. The only thing you are absolutely routine about is that you are ready for bed at 6:45 p.m. and not a minute later . You suck your bottle down and are instantly asleep and we lie you in bed for the next 12 hours. But what happens between those 12 hours is a total shot in the dark. This past week you've been averaging getting up only once in the night (FINALLY!) and making it through 7-8 hours before you wake up. Kaaaaaah-loe, this is okay, but not good enough. We'll keep working it.

You have found your toes and its so cute to see you fold yourself in half to get them in your mouth. I love to scrunch you up, you're so scrunchable! When you're not trying to get your toes in your mouth you're sucking on your fist. And when you're not sucking on your toes or your fist, drool is pouring out of your mouth. You easily soak through your outfit within the first several hours of the day, but we spare that from happening by having you soak through bibs instead. You are a master at rolling from your back to your tummy and are just now trying to figure out how to go from your tummy to your back; you're getting close. I see you put your toes down, cross one leg over the other and push your buns into the air; I'm sure it won't be long now. Even Doctor Sarah was surprised to see that you roll from your back first; she said most babies learn the other way first. Several times now you have taken a bath with your sister in the BIG tub, with my holding you. You absolutely love to kick and splash and basically get me soaked which Kayla finds hilarious. I finally had to acknowledge and accept the fact that your not a newborn anymore and break down (reluctantly, grrrrr) and put away all reclining or slightly reclining baby items in exchange for all upright items - like your high chair, exercauser and jumpy thing. Okay, so you are cute in all your "new" toys. You love them all!

 Toes, toes!
I'm just a happy growing girl!

Like every day when you wake from your nap, Kayla comes running, squealing your name, to give you a hug and a kiss. Today when she was hugging you she kept saying "You just love me so much, don't you? Don't you honey? You just love me! I know you do honey!"

And another cute conversation between you two tonight was when you were in your bouncy getting quite irritable because it was close to bedtime, and when you get irritable you start squawking. Kayla was trying to get your attention to talk to you and her voice kept rising with each sentence over your squawking, "Kaaah-loeeee! KAAAAAh-loeeeee! KAAAAH-LOEEEEE! I'M TRYING TO TALK TO YOU! I HAVE TO ASK YOU A QUESITON! WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO BE FOR HALLOWEEN?" Daddy and I laughed out loud for a long time at that one!

Welcome, fall!

Bundled up and happy to be going outside on a stroller ride!!!
Khloe's wearing - for the first time - Aaron and I's favorite sweater that once belonged to Kayla, a gift from the Jo's! So fun to see Khloe getting use out of some really cute pieces that hardly got worn the first time around! I will relish the few times over the next few weeks - months if I'm lucky - that this sweater will be worn, quite possibly the last time by a little Faust girl. So precious!

Out with the old, in with the new

It was a rough day today.

It's hard for me to let go of one phase knowing that I cannot turn back time on the Growing Little Girl clock. Yet, at the same time, it's exciting to look forward to all the new things just around the corner. But today, I was feeling very sentimental as I watched the "Newborn/Size 0-3/3-6mo" bin become so full that the lid barely snaps shut anymore. How can that be?!? This is a sign of a few things: 1) That summer is over, as I had to put away all the out-of-season clothes; 2) Khloe is growing way, way, way too fast; and 3) What if this is the last time EVER that I've had to pull out these adorable little outfits and put them away? I may never see these things again!

So, just in case this is the last time ever I get to see these clothes hanging in my house, I had to take a photo of the "new" fall wardrobe, a few pieces 3-6mo, and 6-9 and 6-12 month clothes. Photos of Khloe in these clothes is going to be my therapy.

On another note, how can it be that one tiny little person can have so many clothes???? I'm not sure there's enough days in a month or months in a year for her to wear all of these adorable outfits, and this doesn't include the skirts, pants, shirts, onesies and outfits in her dresser drawers, or the two more bins in her closet of 6-12 months clothes I haven't even yet pulled out! I have to thank Cassidy's Mommy for having such style and sharing that with Khloe!

Soaking up the outdoors

It was a Mommy and Khloe day - just the two of us hanging out together all day. We had nowhere to be. Nothing to do. The sun was shining. It was glorious! And you didn't complain one bit about being outside all day. My favorite was getting lots of wet, slobbery kisses from you. They day had a little bittersweet undertone to it though because I know that these warm days are coming to an end. Until then we definately took advantage of being outside today!
