August 31

I'm so thankful to be pregnant again. This is just so exciting. We're so excited. Although 40 weeks can get long, I can honestly say that I'm one of those persons that doesn't mind being pregnant (Check back with me at week 23 and then again at week 36, I might have a completely different opinion then). I cannot wait to hold our new little baby! Aaron can't wait to hold her him/her either. He wasn't afforded that opportunity with Kayla because of his Achilles tendon injury that lasted the first 12 weeks of her little life. What will the newest little Faust be like? Who will he or she look like? What will it's personality be? And I'm itching to know - is it a girl or boy? I'm ready to decorate the newest bedroom! Our family is growing and it's just so exciting.

Soon the three of us will be four.
But keeping this a secret is hard to do! Several times Aaron and I have been close to letting the cat out of the bag, so to speak. This is such BIG news and to not be able to share it with those that are close to us is difficult, and a little stressful. And distracting. And tiring. It's hard work to keep a secret like this one.

Cousin Scott's wedding in St. Joseph ~ It was hard to keep it a secret from my extended family members! (Especially since I was so exhausted most the time and nauseated from the food at the Italian restaurant during the reception. I thought for sure everyone would figure it out, and as I learned later, some were overly curious).

Aaron summed it up perfectly, "Its like I just recieved the best present ever and I can't even tell anyone about it. And I can't even play with it either".

We're just plain excited. And soon the world will know, and celebrate, with us.

August 24

I'm 5 weeks pregnant already. Yet I'm only days into this new life-changing realization.

In some ways it feels good to know I've got 5 weeks under my belt (40 weeks can get looooong). And in some ways, its a little unsettling.

It's so strange to be pregnant and not even know it. I was going about my day-to-day routine and had no idea that inside me a life had begun. I wish there was a way to know the moment it happened so that I could've been rejoicing, preparing, celebrating (and worrying) these last 5 weeks.

August was a busy month, and full of unknowns... unknowingly we were having a baby!

Boating with family. No clue.
Amstutz family reunion. Nope. Lashbrook wedding. Still in the dark, but a tad suspicious. So, it's only week 5 and I'm a little concerned because I have not been feeling, well... myself. Is it only in my head, or is this what morning sickness feels like? Please don't let me have morning sickness this time around. Please let this pregnancy be as easy as the first one. So far my mornings have started out with me needing to eat a cup of oatmeal as soon as I jump out of the shower. Not a huge burden, but definately something that I hope doesn't develop into something worse. I'm so so so nervous about having morning sickness! I was so lucky my first time around. (Which is why all my friends have attempted to curse my second pregnancy with at least some sort of morning sickness).

What are the chances of no morning sickness this time? I have my fingers and toes crossed.

{The News}

Sunday, August 22, 2010. The date our lives changed forever. For the second time.

After 13 months of wondering and trying and worrying and praying and wishing and waiting, this time my suspicisions were confirmed. Two tests showed the same results - a positive reading - and I finally knew it to be true.

Wondering if I would ever get to use my idea, finally I got to dig out the bag I had hidden in my closet for the past 8 months. I wrapped up the gift and cornered Aaron and made him sit down as he was on his way out the door to the grocery store.

With such big, sudden news there was certainly a wide range of emotions... from surprise... to joy and probably a million more in between, but ultimately, happiness.
